What actually causes Joy-Con drift
Joy-Con drift is when your Switch registers joystick movement you're not making — character walking on its own, camera spinning, menus scrolling. It happens because the analog stick module uses graphite contact pads that wear down over time. Dust, friction, and mechanical use grind the contacts until they send inconsistent electrical signals.
Compressed air is a temporary fix at best. Recalibration in settings does nothing for physical wear. Buying new Joy-Cons kicks the can down the road — the new ones drift too, eventually.
We replace the analog stick module with an improved aftermarket unit that resists wear significantly longer than the OEM part. For the permanent solution, our hall effect joystick upgrade eliminates the wear mechanism entirely — magnetic position sensing, no contact pads, no drift ever.
